BGA is a term for micro algae that grow in fresh water. The most common forms are chlorella and spirulina. These small plants have the ability to provide all the nutrients required by the human body. These microscopic micro algae prove that the best foods for you are most certainly green. You can have more energy in an instant all thanks to a billion year old blue green algae.

BGAs contain all known B vitamins including B12 which is rarely found in plants. It also contains vitamin C and E among others, minerals: calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium, omega-3 fatty acids, beta-carotene, nuclei acids and protein. One teaspoon of super green food BGA has more calcium then milk and provides 12 times more digestible protein than beef. BGAs can also remove toxins and heavy metals from your body naturally and safely. Using a green supplement regularly has been helpful with digestive issues like regularity too.

The best way to eat BGA is in a powder form because your body can easily digest and absorb the nutrients. BGA is a whole food, not a multi vitamin or supplement. Multi vitamins and supplements are often made from chemicals or ground up minerals. Vitamin pills are big and hard and take time to break down in your system, some have been shown not to break down at all.

BGAs are natural whole foods, which makes them easy to digest. This gives you a boost of energy. Try a teaspoon of BGA powder with a cup of juice after lunch. This healthy and natural buzz can turn your long afternoon into your most productive time of day!

The quality of your thinking and cognition can be effected drastically by your diet or the food you eat. When your body has plenty of resources, B vitamins and micro nutrients for example, the more effective and efficiently your body runs. Your body uses these resources for all activities whether awake or asleep.

This nutritional trade off goes on every day inside your entire system. That is why it is so important for every organ and system in your body to get the nutrition it needs on a daily basis. How you can maintain the energy level you desire without caffeine or stimulants?

One way is to ingest “super foods” like BGA. mix it in grape juice, that way it has a mild taste, mixes instantly and really packs a punch! Unlike so many other greens in pill or powder from, this one keeps on delivering a healthy, natural buzz every time! You can find many super green foods put there but taste matters. if you cant get it down, it will not work.

BGAs often provide a rich source of nutrients the body requires for optimal health. BGAs have vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phytonutrients and antioxidants. BGAs have beneficial nutrients that have been proven to help prevent many diseases like cancer, cardiovascular diseases and arthritis. It is also why you experience a natural energy rush whenever they take them.

All people can benefit from the nutrition in BGA. It can improve energy levels and are the perfect addition for weight loss programs. BGAs increase stamina, endurance and reduce recovery time from any physical activity.

Considering adding super green food to your diet? Many have experienced the rush of energy and clarity that comes from BGAs. It can be as simple as adding one heaping teaspoon of spirulina to your diet every day in a smoothie or glass of juice.

Blue green algae will also help your digestive process Most BGAs contain chlorella, which is filled with chlorophyll. This natural substance boosts your energy, naturally cleans and detoxifies your body and boosts your immune system. This cleansing is good for your colon, liver and stomach. BGAs have many nutritional benefits – it’s hard to believe this much energy is derived from a tiny algae plant.

Blue green algae or spirulina, is micro algae that is grown in fresh water, usually lakes with still water. It has existed for billions of years as one of the first forms of life on Earth, and is touted as nature’s most nutritious and complete food. Spirulina contains a whole range of healthy nutrients. Spirulina can contain up to twelve times the amount of digestible protein as beef, with a much better balance of minerals than beef. There are reports of people living off nothing but spirulina; and it is very popular among people with vegan diets who need a protein source.

Spirulina contains protein, all of the B vitamins, including Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, a range of minerals, including trace minerals, beta-carotene, chlorophyll, and the omega 3 fatty acids, and fiber, and is a highly digestible food. Blue-green algae are so named because of the blue color of the pigment, phycocyanin, and the green color of chlorophyll. The intensity of these pigments hides the fact that other pigments in the form of carotenoids are present. The main pigment of these carotenoids is beta-carotene, the ingestion of which enables people to produce vitamin A as the body requires. Many of these nutrients are more readily absorbed then when taken in pill form

Spirulina has been used by some people as an aid to weight loss. It has been found that many people experience a reduction in appetite if they take a few grams of spirulina thirty to sixty minutes before a meal. This can be attributed to the high fiber and protein content along with low calorie content leading to a filling of fullness. When the stomach sends the message that it is full to the brain a lower appetite results.

One of the special features of blue-green algae is the fact that their cell walls are digestible, which enables the nutrients to be spread throughout the organism, as opposed to other plants which usually have their nutrients confined within a membrane making digestion more difficult. People who are sick and/or living on a restricted diet can benefit from the consumption of spirulina, because they will be consuming a wide range of nutrients which they may otherwise not be receiving. Large quantities are not required to receive such benefits because of the fact that spirulina is so nutrient rich. Spirulina has also been used to aid in detoxification.

Spirulina can be an excellent supplement for pregnant and lactating mothers, providing them with extra iron and protein without imposing fat and carbohydrates. (You should still consult your physician regarding it use.) Children who are fussy eaters would greatly benefit from it as well as a dietary supplement. There are some who believe hyperactive children benefit from it as well, reporting calmer moods. As a plant source of vitamin B12, spirulina is an excellent food for vegetarians, who also benefit from the quality protein available, which they would not be getting in the form of animal products. Blue-green algae, if taken before exercise, could also give an energy boost because of the concentration of protein and other nutrients; and is a healthier option then sugar sports drinks.

In Japan some experiments have shown that the use of blue-green algae has significant benefits for those suffering from anemia, this is because of the iron content in BGAs leads to increased hemoglobin. Blue-green algae contain enzymes, vitamins and minerals that enable the body to perform at optimal levels. Even in this day and age when there are so many supplements available, BGAs are definitely one you can trust to provide you with a highly nutritious boost.

There is currently no scientific evidence that spirulina is an effective treatment for weight loss.

In a double-blind study it was found that individuals taking 8.4g of spirulina daily did lose weight. There was also a significant drop in serum cholesterol levels documented for the individuals taking spirulina in the study. Unfortunately the weight loss difference between the placebo group and the spirulina group was not statistically different. The group taking spirulina did lose weight, but the data did not prove the weight loss was absolutely the result of spirulina. More scientific studies are needed to establish the effectiveness of spirulina as an effective weight loss treatment.

Spirulina has been proven to contain essential nutrients. Spirulina has also been proven to be protein dense at approximatley 70% protein, by weight. The nutrient and protein data is what leads many to believe that spirulina is an effective weight loss treatment.

Make sure to buy a quality spirulina supplement, should you choose to evaluate the effectiveness of spirulina yourself. Cheap spirulina, typically produced in china, may not be as beneficial as spirulina exported from other countries.

Don’t ask what spirulina does, ask what it does not do! It has more protein than meat, more calcium than milk, more B-12 than liver, more vitamin E than wheat germ, more iron than spinach and more beta carotene than carrots.

It is called a super food. It can help build muscle and reduce fat. It (it is blue-green algae) grows in frozen ice and in boiling springs where no other life can grow. Before any plants or animals existed, it put oxygen in the atmosphere. Most nutritionists drink greens drinks which contain spirulina and other super foods like chlorella, barley grass etc.

All that being said, if you replace a portion of your daily animal-protein intake with protein-rich plant sources (such as spirulina), you can experience a decrease in body-weight. This comes from the fact that spirulina is about 55-77% protein by weight, with very few extra calories. That said, if you’re already a vegetarian, you’ll only get a marginal benefit from spirulina compared to protein from legumes/beans/etc , which can supply all necessary amino acids without making you gain weight.

Is blue-green algae (Chlorella) and Spirulina the same thing? If not can you take both at the same time?
No, they aren’t the same plant, but they are very similar plants. Both are algae that are nutrient rich (vitamins, minerals, protein, amino acids, chlorophyll, etc), but they are different species. The different between the two is much like the difference between a yam and a potato

You could take blue green algae and spirulina together, but you shouldn’t take the maximum dose of either. Taking both may result in more fiber and chlorophyll than your body is ready to handle. In other words, if you take the recommended dose of both at once, you might get the runs. Take about 1/2 the dose of each (or lower if you don’t take either yet), and you should be good. You can always slowly increase your dose later if you’d like to.

Blue-green algae and spirulina are both algae that are very rich in chlorophyll and many other nutrients. Both are often referred to as green super foods. Apparently one comes from blue or green algae and the other one comes from blue/green algae. Barley grass, wheat grass and alfalfa are some other green super foods. Blue-green algae is supposed to be very good for cleansing and detoxing your colon; and spirulina is supposed to be a very good energy booster.

AFA blue-green algae is able to improve the immune system in several ways. This supplement helps people to protect themselves from viruses, from certain diseases, and it may also prevent cancer. The viruses are counterattacked with substances such as vitamin C which, according to some studies that have been performed by scientists, seems to be even more effective than the flu shot. In addition, Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA) tends to alter the activity of the Natural Killer cells. These are an important part of the immune system as they are able to identify and to kill the cancerous cells and the viruses.

Natural Killer cells, also known as NK cells, represent a variety of cytotoxic lymphocyte. Their importance in the innate immune system cannot be denied. They are named this way because they are not activated by other elements of the immune system and because prior to killing cancerous and virus infected cells. The NK cells have in their composition proteins such as perforin and proteases known as granzymes. After identifying the target cell, the proteins create holes in the cell membrane. Next, the granzymes and other similar molecules enter the infected cells and determine a certain process named apoptosis. This is the most important type of programmed cell death. When the cancerous cells gain a specific morphology, they are killed by the Natural Killer cells. At the moment, the way the Natural Killer cells distinguish the infected cells from the normal ones is still unknown. Scientists conduct studies in order to find out these mechanisms. It is believed that the differentiation is done by the two types of receptors found in the NK cells: activating receptors and inhibitory receptors.

Scientists have concluded that in people who consume Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, 40 percent of the Natural Killer cells found in the blood move to the tissues. This way, the cancerous cells are identified and destroyed more rapidly. In addition, it has also been concluded that no other substance is able to have such an effect on the Natural Killer cells. In conclusion, people are able to prevent cancer and viral infections which otherwise would be difficult, if not even impossible to treat.

The antioxidants found in the composition of AFA blue-green algae help people to reduce the oxidative stress levels. Oxidative stressed is believed to be involved in the pathogenesis of many health conditions such as stroke and neurodegenerative diseases. These substances, along with the ones that help NK cells to move from the bloodstream to the tissues, make AFA such a beneficial product. Of course, the number of benefits that are brought by this supplement is greater, but the other effects are caused by other substances.

One of the most nutrient rich foods available on our planet, Blue Green Algae (Aphanizomenon flos-aquae meaning invisible water flower) is a deeply nourishing superfood, powerpacked with protein in a very high bioavailable form that is easily absorbed in our bodies (80% as compared to 20% of meat protein). It is also one of the world’s most concentrated source of chlorophyll, an extremely valuable phytonutrient.

Algae are a class by themselves and exhibit the characteristics of both plants and animals. They have been consumed in one form or another for thousands of years. Blue-Green Algae have the broadest range of phytonutrients of any known algae, including rare trace elements, biologically active enzymes, amino acids, essential fatty acids, B12, chlorophyll, Phenylethylamine (PEA), glycol-proteins, complex sugars, vitamins and minerals which can be easily absorbed in our body due to its soft cell wall.

The chlorophyll in the algae helps detoxify the body and maintain a healthy

immune system. Blue Green Algae helps to remove heavy metals and other environmental pollutants from our bodies. It also contains all eight essential amino acids plus the “semi-essential” amino acids in such a manner that the human body absorbs and metabolizes this super-food at nearly 100% rate!

Even more physiological benefits of the Blue-Green Algae come from the different types of sugars that it creates. These are unique types of polysaccharides necessary for biochemical functions including the building, repairing and replacing of damaged cell structures.

Extensive research has shown that people taking Blue-Green Algae have reported an overall increase in mental alertness, mental stamina, short and long term memory, problem solving, creativity, dream recall and a greater sense of well being.

The greatest benefit of this food is not only its nutrient constitution, but its total synergistic effect on the mind and the nervous system including the pituitary, pineal, and hypothalamus. Because our brain cells use neuropeptides to communicate with each other, and Blue-Green Algae contains the basic building blocks and neuropeptide precursors necessary to create these potent brain chemistries, it contributes to the brain’s ability to process information and to achieve a feeling of well-being. It also contains about 3% nucleic acids… more than any other food! Nucleic acids are responsible for growth, repair and regeneration of cells and also enhance immunity.

The good news about Blue-Green Algae does not end here. It is also full of vitamins, especially rich in B vitamins and the richest vegetable source of both B-12 and beta-carotene. According to the 1991 critical review in “Food and Science and Nutrition” Gram for Gram Blue-Green Algae has 40 times the beta-carotene of carrots! With a precious gift like this from Mother Earth, one does not need to think twice!

The deficiencies in today’s modern diets created by industrial farming and food manufacturing practices remove vital nutrients, leaving us with lower amounts of essential nutrients than that required by the body. To compensate for some of these deficiencies and promote optimal health, it makes sense to take supplements, especially super greens that provide us with nutrients that even the healthiest diets cannot supply. Here are three of the super greens that can keep you in excellent levels of health.

Spirulina

Spirulina platensis is a blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical lakes, that has been called “one of the greatest foods on earth”. It has been used by NASA as a complete and compact food source for astronauts in space. It is also one of the richest vegetable sources of protein, containing all nine essential amino acids required to build protein in the body, and is the only known vegetable source of Vitamin B12.

Spirulina contains natural pigments, like chlorophyll and phycocyanin. It is also one of the richest sources of beta carotene, the precursor of Vitamin A. These pigments are also powerful antioxidants that support immunity and may prevent cancer. Because it stimulates the immune system, however, it is not recommended for use in autoimmune conditions.

Research has shown that Spirulina contains compounds called sulfolipids that can act against HIV. It has also shown activity when tested against other viruses like influenza, cytomegalovirus and herpes virus. It supports healthy bacteria in the intestine and suppresses the growth of harmful fungi like Candida.

Spirulina has shown benefits in effectively detoxifying the body of pollutants such as dioxins. It is rich in the essential fatty acid, gamma linoleic acid (GLA). It is also rich in magnesium and contains an easily absorbed form of iron. Spirulina is an excellent supplement, highly recommended for those who want to build muscle and lose weight.

Chlorella

This green algae harvested from fresh water, is another super food with numerous health benefits. It is well known for its use in the detoxification of heavy metals and other pesticides. Thanks to its fibrous outer shell that can bind with the heavy metals and pesticides, it helps the body break down toxic metals such as mercury, cadmium and lead and persistent hydrocarbon compounds such as DDT and PCB.

Chlorella cleanses the bowel, heals ulcers, supports healthy intestinal bacteria and protects the liver, ensuring that metabolic waste is eliminated more efficiently. Most diseases like cancer thrive in an acidic environment. Because it is an alkaline food, chlorella helps your body maintain an ideal pH of about 7.2-7.4.

Chlorella also supports the immune system by stimulating the activity of T-cells and macrophages and boosting interferon levels. Interferon plays in important role in boosting immunity against viruses. It is effective in maintaining normal blood sugar levels in hypoglycemia and regular use has been shown to reduce high blood pressure and prevent stroke.

Green Barley

Green barley is derived from the leaves of young barley plants. The leaf proteins contain 18 amino acids including all those essential to protein metabolism. In addition, the protein is in the form of polypeptides which require very little digestion and can be directly absorbed into the circulation.

Green barley has over ten times more calcium than milk, more iron than spinach, more Vitamin C than oranges, high amounts of beta carotene and vitamin B12 and a unique form of vitamin E. It provides vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, folic acid, and pantothenic acid and number of trace minerals like zinc, potassium, copper, phosphorus, and manganese.

It also contains the powerful antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) that fights free radicals. Since it is extremely alkaline, it helps balance the body’s pH and keep it at healthy levels. Green barley extracts have been found to control cholesterol levels, reduce inflammation and fight ulcers. A-glucan, a fiber present in this supplement is also present in oat bran, which is known to reduce cholesterol.

Whether used alone or in combination, these super greens can give you an advantage against pollution, diet deficiencies and modern lifestyle that damages your body and causes disease. Consult your physician before taking any supplement.

Blue-green Algae have benefited many people who complained of poor memory or concentration and this is most likely due to its high content of usable proteins and amino acid peptides that are crucial to the formation of neurotransmitters, plus its high nutrient content that provides nourishment to hitherto weakened nerves.

Another factor in the algae’s success as “brain food” may lie in its high choline and manganese content. Choline is known as the “brain enhancing vitamin,” while manganese deficiency (fully correctable by the algae) can lead to pre-senile brain degradation.

Moreover, several studies have been conducted on the effects of AFA blue-green algae on children and adults with so-called ADHD, with very promising and positive results.

This is not necessarily good news for the drugs industry for whom ADHD has proven a real money spinner and which profits not only from sales of drugs to “manage” ADHD and other diseases (not “cure,” “MANAGE,” you’ll notice because psychiatry does not like to talk about curing anything – for the very good reason that it can’t) and then further drug sales to “manage” the addictions and other mental and physical complications that result from doping children up on powerful brain damaging chemicals.

There is hardly anyone by now who does not know how the psycho-pharmacy has been operating its highly lucrative scam: first take some characteristics of human behavior and label them a “mental illness.” Market the illness so thoroughly nobody notices that there is NO scientific proof worth a nickel that such an illness exists and plenty of evidence that it derives from, among other things, nutritional imbalances and poisons in the food. Then market a powerful drug to suppress the “illness.”

Despite the massive and disingenuous campaign fuelled by millions of psycho-pharmacy dollars to convince everyone that a mental illness called ADHD exists, and that the only hope those suffering from it have is to be drugged, the truth has a habit of confounding the dedicated efforts of the nefarious to suppress it.

And so it is with the great ADHD hoax and other mental illness from the psychiatric “hoaxocopia:” the cat is well and truly out of the bag and the public at last has awoken to the fact that nutrition is better medicine than drugs.

A study in Nicaragua as long ago as 1992, for example, showed the beneficial effects of AFA blue-green algae on children’s school performance. In the study, 1482 children ingested about 1 gram of AFA blue-green per day and one year later their average academic scores rose from a baseline of 64% to 81%. [ published by Project 2000, Inc. 140 Seawall St. Boylston MA. Fall 1993 issue.] This is a truly astounding result for such a modest amount of AFA blue-green algae consumed.

Another study, this time from the University of Central America in 1995, also examined the effects on the academic performance (as well as overall health status) of about 1 gram of AFA blue-green algae per day. A group of 111 children taking the algae were monitored for six months and their outcomes were compared to a control group with the same number of children.

For the children taking the AFA blue-green algae, an impressive improvement was evident, both in class participation and their ability to focus on given tasks. ["Study of the effects of Super Blue Green Algae™ on the nutritional status and school performance of first, second and third grade children attending the Monsenor Velez School in Nandaime, Nicaragua.." Cell Tech, 1995]

Yet another study of AFA blue-green algae is especially illuminating. This involved 109 children with an average age of 9 years, (55 girls and 54 boys) whose parents filled out a detailed standardized questionnaire that inquired about the academic, medical, and behavioral histories of their children. At the end of the study, which lasted ten weeks, those parents were asked to fill out another questionnaire and the compiled results indicated “significant improvement in the ability to focus, follow directions, and concentrate… fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression and behavior withdrawal.” Teachers were also involved in the study and their reports declared “an improvement in the ability to focus and concentrate…a reduction in aggressive and acting out behaviors.” The authors of the study concluded that “significant positive changes in children were evident across a wide range of behaviors…[and] that all children might increase their ability to concentrate and focus as AFA blue-green algae is added to their diet.” ["The Children and Algae Report". Center for Family Wellness Study, 1995]

But it is not just the Blue-green algae that so effectively helps with ADHD and other problems of mind/brain function such as depression and Alzheimers (and WITHOUT the dangerous side effects for which drugs are so notorious) but there is increasing evidence that Green Tea is highly beneficial too.
